Buying shampoo

Wed, 07.10.2009

In October 2008, I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 37. I had surgery, then, on 31 December, I started chemotherapy. By February, the drugs had eaten my hair. I knitted a lot of hats, and I waited, and slowly but surely, my hair grew back. In October 2009, I bought shampoo and conditioner for the first time in over a year. Hanging out in the haircare aisle, rather than dashing through it feeling inadequate as I had been doing for over 6 months, was a fantastic feeling. I think I will always delight in buying shampoo from now on. I'll certainly never take it for granted again.
